Mt. Bachelor today announced that the Skyliner lift, offline since the end of 2021, will undergo repairs this summer and be operational for the 2022/23 ski season. In addition, Mt. Bachelor Resort President & General Manager John McLeod announced a commitment to fully replace the lift in the summer of 2023 with a new six-person high-speed detachable lift that will be operational for the 2023/24 ski season.

Speaking about the repairs and eventual replacement of the Skyliner lift, McLeod said, “Safety is, and will remain, our #1 priority at Mt. Bachelor. At the end of February, I shared that we had exhausted our options to repair the Skyliner lift for this current ski season – a disappointment to us all. I appreciate everyone's patience and flexibility as we mitigated the issue. We have fully developed plans with Doppelmayr to make the necessary repairs to our existing Skyliner lift over the coming summer to ensure that it will be operational again next winter.”

“In addition, I'm thrilled to announce that we are committed to replacing the Skyliner lift with a new, six-person high-speed detachable lift – increasing our capacity on that lift by 50%. Pending environmental analysis, the lift will be replaced in the summer of 2023 and be open to skiers and riders during the 2023/24 season. I'm very excited that Skyliner will be our first six-pack being at the very heart of our resort in so many ways.”

*The lift is unable to be replaced until 2023 due to a manufacturer backlog. Further details of the new lift will be shared in the coming months.
